Son of the painter Pieter Rysbraeck, Pieter Andreas obtained the title of master in 1709 and specialized in hunting scenes and still lifes. Around 1720, he left for England with his younger brother John Michael who became one of the main sculptors across the Channel. The painter also became known for his topographical landscapes. One of the most important commissions he received was from Lord Burlington to paint a series of portraits of his "country house": Chiswick House.
