One of the founding texts of Hispanic literature translated by Pierre Heugas.
Illustration: 66 out-of-text etchings and aquatints by Pablo Picasso.
From an edition at 400 copies. One of 350 numbered copies on Richard de Bas watermarked paper " La Célestine ", signed by the artist (n°51).
Composed during 1968, this suite of partly erotic illustrations is part of the " 347 " series, in which the artist produced new engravings daily. Because Pablo Picasso did not want the text to be printed on the reverse side of his etchings, a particular layout was adopted in which double uncut leaves alternate with single leaves.
